Tax exemption to nurture creative ideas
With Resolution No. 53/2024/NQ-HDND issued on December 13, 2024, Da Nang officially implemented a policy of exempting corporate income tax and personal income tax for innovative startups in the area. This is one of the specific policies built on the special mechanism allowed by the National Assembly in Resolution 136/2024/QH15.
Accordingly, enterprises entitled to this policy must meet specific criteria on innovation, technology application, innovative business model and sustainable development potential. Tax exemption not only reduces financial burden but also opens the door to attract investors, experts and young businesses to the coastal city of the Central region.
Mr. Tran Dang Huy, representative of Local Life Technology Company Limited - the developer of the LocalLife.Asia community tourism platform - said that the resolution is a big "push" for startups that are making efforts to commercialize creative products. His project is integrating AI to personalize travel itineraries and preserve indigenous cultural values. "Accommodations such as corporate income tax exemption in the first 5 years, expert support... really help businesses overcome the most difficult period," Mr. Huy shared.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Vu Tien Dung - Director of Fundgo Da Nang Creative Startup Investment Fund - commented: "This policy creates a solid foundation for businesses in Da Nang to break through. Not only removing financial barriers but also demonstrating a clear message: the city accompanies and supports startups.

In reality, the innovative startup community in Da Nang is gradually expanding with the participation of many young businesses. Not stopping at tax policies, Da Nang is also implementing a series of comprehensive support solutions. At the recent working session between the leaders of the City People's Committee and the startup community, at the Innovation Startup Support Center, many notable proposals were made such as: allowing a pilot of new technology in a practical environment, prioritizing the use of startup products in state agencies, establishing a startup investment fund at universities and supporting housing, healthcare, and education to attract talent.
Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee Ho Quang Buu acknowledged the worthy contributions from the business community. He affirmed that the city will continue to accompany, remove difficulties and create conditions for creative ideas to be realized right in its homeland.
