Many public investment projects in mountainous communes of Da Nang City are facing difficulties and are behind schedule.

On October 16, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Ho Quang Buu led a working delegation of the city to work with the two mountainous communes of Lanh Ngoc and Son Cam Ha on the implementation of backlogged and behind- schedule public investment projects.

According to the report, in Lanh Ngoc commune, there are currently 6 projects invested by the commune that are behind schedule, mainly construction items serving agricultural irrigation. Some projects have low implementation rates, such as Song Tum 2 pumping station, which has only reached 18% of the volume, and Thien Lu pumping station, which has reached 58%.

The main reason is due to problems in site clearance, many households have not agreed to donate land, some projects do not have compensation funding, the process of arranging administrative units has caused interruption in receiving and managing project documents.

In Son Cam Ha commune, there are currently 2 public investment projects managed by the commune, including the Tien River power pumping station and the Tien Trang pumping station under the public investment plan for the period 2024-2026.

Up to now, the Tien River pumping station project has reached 55.5% of the contract value, while Tien Trang pumping station has disbursed 100% of capital of more than 2.2 billion VND, but still lacks more than 428 million VND to complete the remaining items.

The locality has proposed that the People's Committee of Da Nang City allocate an additional VND2.6 billion to soon complete these two projects, ensuring production services.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee Ho Quang Buu acknowledged the efforts of the localities. Requesting departments, branches and sectors to closely coordinate and promptly remove obstacles in terms of capital and site, ensuring speeding up construction progress and disbursing public investment capital according to plan and effectively.
