Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam signed Official Letter No. 1366/UBND-SXD on focusing on implementing repair, renovation, unblocking, dredging of revenue gates and water intakes in the city before the 2025 rainy season.
In particular, it is recommended that the People's Committees of the wards: Hai Chau, Hoa Cuong, Thanh Khe, An Khe, An Hai, Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son, Hoa Khanh, Lien Chieu, Hai Van, Cam Le, Hoa Xuan urgently direct contractors to provide drainage services in the locality and related interdisciplinary units to survey and specifically assess the current operation of the water intake gates and culverts under their management.
At the same time, immediately deploy necessary immediate solutions such as unloading, dredging, minor repairs... drainage systems to ensure maximum efficiency in the 2025 rainy season. In case additional funding is needed for implementation, it is recommended that the People's Committees of the wards urgently propose and report to the Department of Finance to advise the City People's Committee for decision.
For the remaining communes and wards, the People's Committees of wards and communes will coordinate with relevant units to conduct surveys, statistics, and assess the operation of water intakes and ditches. At the same time, proactively deploy specific handling plans. In the immediate future, it is necessary to seriously carry out propaganda and mobilize people to join hands to prevent and respond to flooding before each rain in the upcoming rainy season.
