Big promotion
Going shopping in late April, Ms. Le Tu Trinh (living in Thu Duc City) said: "supermarkets have attractive promotional programs such as 50% discount, buy 1 for 1... along with eye-catching display, red flags with yellow stars everywhere make me more bold to spend".
According to Lao Dong, during the 30.4-1.5 holiday this year, retail systems in Ho Chi Minh City have implemented deep discount programs.

Saigon Co.op retail system has launched a large-scale promotion program, with strong discounts for a series of products focusing on essential items to serve people's shopping needs during the long holiday season.
The consecutive organization of promotional programs helps consumers save costs in the context of increasing living costs, while boosting domestic consumption of goods, supporting domestic production - Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thang - Deputy General Director of Saigon Co.op said.
Central Retail's supermarket system also launched many attractive promotions applying discounts of up to 50% on over 1,000 products from fresh food, processed foods, alcohols, beer, soft drinks, to fashion clothes, especially local specialties across the country, along with many attractive gifts.
Consumers' purchasing power during the 30.4/4.5 holiday is expected to increase by 20-30% compared to normal days, so retailers have proactively increased their inventory, while extending the promotion period so that people can shop comfortably.
Promoting the agricultural supply chain
Retailers are also actively responding to the "Responsible Green Pick" program - an initiative launched by Ho Chi Minh City to build a safe supply chain, trace the origin and improve the quality of consumer goods.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Toan - Commercial Director of MM Mega Market Vietnam - said that since the beginning of 2025, the enterprise has established a separate exhibition area for green Tick products and signed cooperation agreements with about 50 suppliers.
Currently, there are more than 200 product codes with green Tick, mainly focusing on agricultural products and vegetables. These products are arranged in separate areas, with identification labels using green tick marks and Vietnamese names, making it easy for customers to recognize and prioritize their choices.

According to Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, this program contributes to realizing the City's commitment to sustainable economic development, by creating a safe, transparent commodity ecosystem, clearly tracing the origin, and accompanying consumers in choosing high-quality products.
Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung also highly appreciated the efforts of relevant sectors and units in implementing the responsible green Tick program.
He said that the participation of more and more suppliers in the program is a practical step to realize the City's commitment to ensuring the supply of transparent, safe and quality goods. This is not just a simple technical activity but also an important shift in the thinking of developing a modern distribution system, focusing on consumer confidence.
