On August 30, An Chau Commune Police (An Giang Province) said that they had coordinated with the Criminal Police Department of An Giang Province Police to encourage the wanted subject for the act of "Organizing gambling" to surrender after many months of hiding.
According to the records, on March 7, 2025, the Criminal Police Department of An Giang Provincial Police discovered and caught red-handed a gambling den in Hoa Hung residential area, in Hoa Hung hamlet, Hoa Binh Thanh commune (now An Chau commune), with 14 subjects participating in the form of shaking tai su to win and lose money. The seized exhibits include: 24.9 million VND on the gambling table, 77.7 million VND in the subjects' vehicles, 1 set of gambling tools and a number of other exhibits.
During the investigation, Nguyen Van Danh (born in 1993, residing in Hoa Hung Hamlet, An Chau Commune) fled the locality and was wanted by the Criminal Police Department of the Provincial Police.
Using professional measures, combined with mobilization and persuasion work through relatives in the family, An Chau Commune Police and the Criminal Police Department of the Provincial Police mobilized Danh to surrender after a period of hiding.
Currently, An Chau Commune Police have handed over Danh to the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police for handling according to regulations.
