On December 13 in Da Nang, more than 6,000 students, parents and teachers from more than 40 kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools in Da Nang city attended the Open STEM Day 2025 Science and Technology Festival organized by FPT Da Nang Primary and Secondary School.
Open STEM Day 2025 aims to create an exciting STEM & AI experience journey, where students, teachers and parents can explore the principles of science, technology, engineering and toanology, while experiencing breakthrough applications of artificial intelligence.
The program took place with four key activities: FPT Schools Robot Tournament, STEMPetition Final at the grassroots level, EdTalk: Better with AI educational conference, and a series of 25 STEM Challenges booths for students.
In the experience segment, 25 technology booths provide opportunities for students to "touch the future" through a series of activities such as assembling and programming VEX robots, exploring the HOLOX hologram, scientific experiments, challenging arithmetic thinking, decoding letters, interactive English experiences or creative art and technology workshops...
Along with that is the FPT Schools Robot Tournament, an annual playground for students in grades 1 - 9 in Da Nang City. With the theme "Creating a country", the robot programming teams will carry out a series of tasks to simulate construction activities, thereby practicing logical thinking, programming skills and teamwork skills, core competencies of STEM education.
In the academic field, Fschools STEMPetition 2025 - 2026 returns with the theme "Deep Learning With Love", encouraging students to develop AI products associated with the community and sustainable development goals (SDGs). From nearly 200 ideas, the 12 best teams entered the grassroots finals, bringing many creative and applicable solutions.
The highlight of Open STEM Day 2025 is the EdTalk: Better with AI education workshop, an event that brings together a large number of teachers across Da Nang City to update trends and apply AI in teaching.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Mai Tan Linh - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang said that Open STEM Day 2025 is not only the largest "technology festival" of the school year organized by FPT Primary and Secondary School, but also an event that creates deep connections between schools - families - communities, towards a modern, humane and sustainable education system.
According to the Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, in the context of strong development of science and technology, STEM education plays an extremely important role. STEM not only equips knowledge, but also nurtures critical thinking, problem-solving ability, creativity and cooperation capacity - core qualities of global citizens. Incorporating STEM into general education is our way of creating a foundation for the younger generation to confidently step into the future with solid foundation.
