HUE - On August 20, Thanh Thuy Ward Police (Hue City) said that they had just drawn up a record to handle a case of spreading fake news about being robbed.

Previously, at around 8:45 a.m. on August 18, Ms. Ho Thi Thu H. (born in 2004, residing at 3/123 Phung Quan, Thanh Thuy Ward) reported that two subjects were blocked by a motorbike, threatened and robbed a handbag containing 1.8 million VND, a yellow Realme 5.3 phone and personal documents.

However, through investigation, the victim's statements have many unusual points. After the struggle, Ms. Huong admitted that she had made up a story to make up for losing money when buying and selling goods on TikTok, so she fabricated a story about being robbed to sell property in return.

Thanh Thuy Ward Police have drawn up a record of administrative violations against Ms. Huong according to regulations.
