On April 17, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province requested units and localities in the province to rectify and overcome violations in the management and use of the State budget.
Recently, the Provincial Inspectorate has recommended that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee direct the handling of responsibilities and at the same time recovered illegal expenditures.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested heads of agencies, units and localities to urgently review, self-inspect, handle according to their authority and take measures to overcome and rectify shortcomings and errors in budget management and use.
In particular, enhancing responsibility in appraising design documents, construction drawings, and project estimates; supervising at all stages during the implementation of construction investment projects to minimize loss and waste of the State budget.
The Provincial People's Committee also emphasized the need to strictly implement the acceptance and completion of the project to determine the correct settlement volume before handing over and putting it into use.
In the first quarter of 2025, the Provincial Inspectorate discovered financial violations at 23 units with a total amount of money recommended to be paid to the State budget of more than 20 billion VND. To date, over 18 billion VND has been recovered.
The authorities have organized a review of the responsibilities of 7 groups and 47 individuals involved; transferred the file of a case with signs of crime to the Investigation Police Agency for further verification and handling.
At the recent conference on anti-corruption, waste and negativity, Gia Lai Provincial Party Secretary and Mr. Ho Van Nien emphasized that it is necessary to continue to speed up the progress of investigation, prosecution and trial of corruption, economic and negativity cases.
Thereby, increasing the rate of property recovery that has been misappropriated, limiting the situation of prolonging and returning documents many times, causing public outrage.
