At the workshop, delegates focused on contributing to the layout and content of the draft to better clarify outstanding achievements and important events of the people's armed forces, especially in the war to protect the southwestern border and perform international missions to help; construction and development activities of the provincial armed forces in the new situation; as well as summarizing lessons learned in the process of building, fighting, working, and maturing.
The People's Armed Forces of Kien Giang province were born in a land rich in revolutionary traditions. When the country was at peace, in countless difficult conditions and circumstances, but with the will to be self-reliant and self-reliant, the armed forces of the province overcame all challenges. Not only organizing the search and destroy of the enemy, maintaining political security, consolidating and protecting the revolutionary government, participating in production labor, healing war wounds, contributing to helping people stabilize their lives, but also organizing forces to fight to protect the Fatherland in the southwestern border and completing international tasks to help Cambodia in Kam Pot province.
At the same time, the provincial People's Armed Forces contribute to maintaining political security, order and social safety, actively advising local Party committees and authorities to build Kien Giang homeland to be increasingly political, economically rich, and national defense and security strong.
That process needs to be recognized and clarified, therefore, based on the attention, direction and guidance of superiors and especially the wishes of leaders and commanders through the periods who have fought and worked in Kien Giang province; local Party committees and authorities have directed, organized research and compilation of the Kien Giang Provincial People's Armed Forces History Project (1975 - 2025).
The project aims to recreate historical stages, with the requirement to objectively and comprehensively recognize events, especially outstanding achievements associated with land names and people names, drawing valuable lessons from theoretical and practical values, serving the work of building the people's armed forces in the province, educating the people, especially the young generation today.
The workshop had high consensus and unity, focusing on clarifying the operation and development of the People's Armed Forces of the province from 1975 to 2025; as a basis for the compilation and editing department to adjust and supplement the draft through the Military Science Council of Military Region 9 and print, publish and disseminate it as soon as possible.
