On July 28, at a working session with the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) on the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) and Green Index (PGI), Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Truong Viet Dung emphasized that the city clearly identified that the index increase was not aimed at achievements, but aimed at promoting administrative reform and sustainable development.
Based on the results of PCI and PGI in 2024, in order to continue improving the investment - business environment and promoting private economic development, the Hanoi People's Committee proposed that VCCI coordinate to build an internal assessment platform for PCI and PGI indices. In addition, the city will clearly identify the specific responsibilities of each sector and field; at the same time, organize practical training courses, with assessment of the effectiveness of training for cadres of departments, branches and localities related to PCI - PGI.
The city also requested VCCI to support the establishment of a periodic dialogue mechanism with businesses, with a system to automatically record and process feedback from the business community.
Vice Chairman Truong Viet Dung affirmed: With the thinking of the Capital - Hanoi action, the city will continue to proactively grasp reality, accompany people and businesses to remove difficulties; promote administrative reform, improve service quality; at the same time, strengthen communication work, especially policy communication.
Hanoi will establish interdisciplinary working groups in coordination with VCCI to deploy each group of specific contents and topics, clearly analyze strengths, limitations, causes and propose solutions to overcome them. The ultimate goal is to serve people and businesses better and better.
The Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee also proposed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Hanoi and VCCI, in order to establish a strategic, long-term cooperative relationship, thereby promoting the linkage, towards the goal of building a green, modern and sustainable capital.
Appreciating the commitment from the capital government, Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh - Vice Chairman of VCCI - said that the decisive factor for success is first of all the determination from the leaders of Hanoi City, followed by the proactiveness and positivity from departments, branches and sectors - something that Hanoi has been clearly demonstrating.
In the coming time, VCCI will closely coordinate with Hanoi City, focus on exchanging according to each key group, clearly analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges, thereby contributing to improving the quality of management and competitiveness of the capital, Mr. Vinh emphasized.
