On the morning of March 23, the Hanoi People's Committee organized the Olympic Running Day for the Health of All People and the Launching Ceremony of the 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run - For Peace 2025, taking place at Ba Kieu Temple Flower Garden and around Hoan Kiem Lake.
This is a key sporting event of the city, practically celebrating the 79th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Industry (March 27, 1946 - March 27, 2025), towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Vu Thu Ha - Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee said: In March 2025, 30 districts, towns and cities have simultaneously implemented the plan for the Olympic Running Day for the health of all people, associated with launching the 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run at most grassroots units, communes, wards, towns and schools, attracting over 350,000 participants.
This is a program of widespread social significance, aiming to propagate to all classes of people the meaning of physical exercise, improving physical fitness and stature of people in the period of integration and development".
At the launching ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented souvenir flags to units attending the launching ceremony. After the opening ceremony, more than 4,000 people from the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the new Hanoi Newspaper, athletes, police, students of the gifted high school, Hoan Kiem district... participated in the race.
After the launching ceremony, from now until September 2025, units will continue to implement the new Hanoi Newspaper Award running movement, the general standard test run at the grassroots level, thereby selecting athletes to practice and form a team to participate in the city-level finals on September 28, 2025.
