On March 6th, the two brothers Vi Thao Truong and Vi Thanh Quyen, Mung village, Song Ma commune, Son La province will officially enlist in the army.
Truong participates in military service in the Vietnam People's Army, while Quyen performs the duty of participating in the People's Police.

Born and raised in a purely agricultural family where the Ma River flows through, the two brothers have different personalities and orientations. However, both have a common desire to train and dedicate their youth to their homeland and country.
When the locality deployed the work of recruiting soldiers and selecting citizens to perform their duties to participate in the People's Police in 2026, Truong and Quyen jointly wrote voluntary applications.
Sharing about his decision, Vi Thao Truong said that the image of young people in the village after completing their military service returning with maturity and growth has created motivation for him.
I see that after returning from the army, everyone is more mature than before, so I admire them very much. I asked my family to write a voluntary enlistment application to be trained in the military environment, helping myself to be more stable," Truong said.
Unlike his older brother, Thanh Quyen chose to fulfill his duty to participate in the People's Police immediately after graduating from high school. "Although still confused, I am still determined to challenge myself in a strict disciplinary environment, with the desire to contribute to the task of maintaining security and order," Quyen confided.
Mr. Vi Van Khoa - the father of the two children - said that initially the family could not help but worry because the children were still young, especially Quyen who had just graduated from high school. However, before the determination of the children, the family encouraged and supported them. "If the children want to train and grow up, the family will always be a solid rear," Mr. Khoa shared.

In the 2026 military recruitment, Song Ma commune received 21 applications for voluntary military service, of which 19 citizens were eligible for selection.
The fact that two brothers volunteered to perform their duties in two different forces is a beautiful story, contributing to spreading the spirit of responsibility and civic consciousness of the youth of the highlands.
In the middle of the longan blooming season on the banks of the Ma River, the twenty-year-old steps of Truong and Quyen are ready for a new journey - a journey of training, maturity and dedication.
