In the afternoon of 4.4, the People's Court of Soc Trang province opened a trial of the trial of property robbery for 11 defendants including Dang Tan Minh (born in 1996); Duong Duc Trung (born in 1992); Tran Huu Tai (born in 2004); Nguyen Nhut Anh (born in 2003); Nguyen Viet Thang (born in 2007); Phan Tai Anh (born in 2006) resides in Ke Sach district (Soc Trang province) and Nguyen Thanh Tam (born in 1988); Ho Duy Khanh (born in 1986); Nguyen So Ny (born in 1997); Vo Minh Tan (born in 1992); Tran Van Hoa (born in 1997) residing in Mo Cay Nam district (Ben Tre province).
According to the conclusion, on August 28, 2023, Nguyen Hoang Tu, Ken and Dang Tan Minh invited Tran Van Cuong, Nguyen Duc Tam and Do Van Tuan to Ke Sach town (Ke Sach district, Soc Trang province) to play card games to get money with the purpose of robbing property. Minh invited the remaining defendants to join and assign roles to each person.
When entering inside, the defendants used their hands and feet to beat Mr. Cuong, Duc Tam and Mr. Tuan, then used a knife to control and rob 25.4 million VND, then forced the victims to transfer 140 million VND to the defendants.
Minh, Ken and Tu also robbed Mr. Cuong's Iphone 13 Promax, Mr. Tam's Iphone 12 Promax, 1 gold necklace, 1 gold ring and 1 silver ring. The total value of the stolen property is valued at more than 52.8 million VND.
The trial panel sentenced Minh to 16 years and 3 months in prison; Trung to 7 years in prison; Tai and Nhut Anh to 8 years in prison, Thang and Tai Anh to 4 years in prison; Tam, So Ny, Tan to 11 years in prison; Khanh to 12 years in prison; Hoa to 12 years and 3 months in prison.
