On September 20, the People's Committee of Binh Hung Hoa Ward held a launching ceremony for the movement "Joining hands to build Binh Hung Hoa Green Ward". More than 500 cadres, party members, youth union members and people volunteered to participate.
After the ceremony, forces simultaneously launched to clean up the environment, handle the remaining areas of waste along the Black Water Canal, remove glass jars, dredge water flows, to improve the environment and restore the green - clean - beautiful landscape. The launch of the event took place with the goal of raising awareness, creating consensus and action of the entire population to protect the long-term living environment.

According to Mr. Pham Hoang Khanh - Vice Chairman of Binh Hung Hoa Ward People's Committee, after many times of collecting garbage and water hyacinth, dredging canals combined with signs prohibiting dumping, pollution still recurs, especially at the end of the canal.
Mr. Khanh analyzed the reason that some people and discharge facilities are not in accordance with regulations, garbage from the source is not fully controlled, and the weak flow causes garbage to stagnate.
The green ward action program that we launched aims not only to temporarily clean up but also to change habits and enhance community responsibility, Mr. Khanh emphasized.

Ms. Pham Viet Le Trinh - Secretary of the Youth Union of Binh Hung Hoa Ward - said that the movement is a great expectation of the Party Committee, government and people to change awareness, consciousness and action.
"We young people are very excited to participate from the beginning, although the work is somewhat arduous such as treating garbage and water hyacinth in canals and slippery roads. But when we see the canal more open, the people are happier, we find all efforts meaningful, Ms. Trinh shared.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tai, Secretary of the Youth Union of Quarter 42, said that the role of young people is very important in setting an example for the community.
I am very happy to participate in cleaning, propaganda, and contributing to building a clean and beautiful neighborhood. Small things like that when many people are united will create big changes, said Mr. Tai.

The launching ceremony is not only a launching festival but is built by the People's Committee of Binh Hung Hoa Ward into a long-term movement.
The ward also implemented practical projects such as "garbage barriers" under the Black Water Canal, restoring order on the roadside on Go Xoai and Ap Chien Luoc streets, replacing house license plates and advertising signs according to ward locations.
In addition to the large number of participants, the coordination between the government, organizations and people is focused on to ensure the movement is effective and spreads widely.
