Hung Yen plans a synchronous and modern School - Institute - Hospital project

Hung Yen - Chairman of Hung Yen People's Committee worked with Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy and listened to the progress report of the 1,200-bed Hospital.

On December 23, Chairman of Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc had a working session with Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy on the construction planning and development orientation for the period 2026 - 2030, with a vision to 2045. On the same day, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee listened to the Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 2 report on the progress of the Thai Binh General Hospital construction project with a scale of 1,200 beds.

According to the report, the Project to build Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy according to the smart university model is a necessary step to promote the potential application of digital technology and artificial intelligence in training, scientific research and management. Thereby contributing to improving the quality of training, developing applied scientific research and enhancing international cooperation.

The project has a scale of about 50 hectares, of which the construction area is about 30 hectares, with functional subdivisions including: operating area; lectures, practice rooms, simulation centers; national medical practice licensing and examination center; 800-bed general hospital; 300-bed geriatric hospital combined with nursing home; library, smart learning materials; dormitory; pharmaceutical workshop; key laboratory; regulating lake and green space.

The project is planned according to the "School - Institute - Hospital" model in the same complex, environmentally friendly, with a total estimated investment of about VND5,000 billion; of which 40% is from the state budget, 40% is from public-private partnership sources and other legal sources.

For the 1,200-bed Thai Binh General Hospital project, in 2025, the project will be allocated 384.7 billion VND, including 280 billion VND from the central budget and over 104.7 billion VND from the local budget. Currently, the items of component project 1 are basically completed; component project 2 has been bid ahead of schedule.

The Management Board of Construction Investment Projects No. 2 proposed to add component project 3 on science and technology, digital transformation to meet the criteria of smart hospitals. Concluding the working session, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Project Management Board to focus on speeding up the progress, striving to complete the project in the period of 2026 - 2027.

At the same time, the Department of Health was assigned to coordinate with relevant units to study and establish component project 3 or adjust the investment policy, include it in the public investment plan for 2026, ensuring synchronous equipment when the Hospital comes into operation in 2027.
