On September 23, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) organized the 8th Oil and Gas Skills Competition in 2024, taking place at the Ba Ria campus of the Petroleum College (PV College).
Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Le Tan Dung - Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the delegation; Mr. Do Chi Thanh - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group; Mr. Nguyen Manh Kha - Member of the Executive Committee of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Permanent Vice President of Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union and other delegates and guests.
According to Mr. Do Chi Thanh, this year, the competition continues to be a lever, creating motivation to raise the sense of professional responsibility and professional capacity of each oil and gas worker, especially the young workforce. The competition also arouses the emulation movement to promote initiatives, improve techniques... to build a team with high professional qualifications and solid skills, meeting the needs of rapid, strong and sustainable development of the group. This is also an opportunity to discover, select and train young workers with solid knowledge and good skills to participate in the National and ASEAN Regional Skills Competition.
"After 7 times of organization, the Oil and Gas Skills Competition has become a festival of professional activities and professional skills, an opportunity for workers to exchange, learn experiences, improve professional qualifications and skills... Becoming a tradition of those who seek fire, a festival to honor the golden hands of the Oil and Gas workers" - Mr. Thanh emphasized.
This year's competition has the participation of more than 280 candidates from 15 member units under Petrovietnam, carefully selected from the grassroots level. Candidates will compete in 14 occupations including: Oil and gas exploitation operations, Oil and gas drilling equipment operations, Oil refinery operations, Thermal power plant operations, Industrial electronics, Automation, Electrical installation, Refrigeration, Turning, Assembly, Welding, Graphic design, Information technology software solutions and Information technology network system administration.
