On March 25, the People's Committee of Dak Na commune, Tu Mo Rong district (Kon Tum) said that the local government had coordinated with the police to bring Mr. A Nhanh (born in 2006, residing in Ba Ham village) from Thailand back to the country safely.
A Nhanh is one of three people in the commune who were tricked into going to Cambodia with the promise of a light job and a high salary. Previously, in August 2024, A Nhanh, A Kunh (born in 2005, Ba Ham village) and A Kien (born in 2005, Long Tum village, Dak Na commune) left their hometown to work as workers in Binh Duong.
Two months later, A Nhanh found a job online and was promised a salary of 1,000 USD/month by a subject. Believing their words, all three went to Moc Bai border gate (Tay Ninh province) to complete the procedures, but were then tricked into taking them to Cambodia.

In Cambodia, all three had their phones confiscated, locked up and forced to participate in online fraud activities. Due to not meeting the requirements, they are often beaten and starved.
On February 20, A Kun and A Kien escaped, were helped by local people and returned to their hometown on February 24. A Nhanh also tried to escape but was detained by Thai police.
After that, the authorities helped bring A Nhanh back to the country safely. On the afternoon of March 23, he returned to Dak Na commune.
According to the People's Committee of the commune, at the upcoming village meeting, the authorities will invite the three victims to share their stories to warn people, raise awareness, and avoid falling into the trap of job fraud.
