On the evening of February 27, Hai Phong City Police said that at 15:36 on the same day, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team on the River, under the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Hai Phong City Police received a report of a drowning incident that occurred in the Re River area, through National Highway 17B, Le Loi Ward, An Duong District, Hai Phong.
According to initial information at around 3:00 p.m. on February 27, 3 people were traveling by boat from the aquaculture yard to the shore on Road 17B. When they reached the middle of the river, the boat suddenly overturned, causing all 3 people to fall into the water. People around promptly rescued 2 people, but the victim V.V.G (born in 1982, residing in Le Chan district, Hai Phong) unfortunately died.
Immediately after receiving the report from the 114 Command Information Center, Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team on the River mobilized a specialized vehicle and 6 officers and soldiers of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team, especially elite on land and underwater to search.
At 5:35 p.m. the same day, the police found the victim's body and handed it over to Le Loi Ward Police for investigation and clarification of the cause of the incident.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department recommends that people be cautious when participating in waterway traffic, especially complying with safety regulations such as wearing life jackets and checking vehicles before moving.
