On the morning of April 18, Colonel Pham Thanh Tam - Deputy Director of Long An Provincial Police - chaired the Award Ceremony for collectives with outstanding achievements in the fight against crime and drug abuse.
At the ceremony, authorized by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Colonel Pham Thanh Tam presented a Certificate of Merit and a reward of 10 million VND to Department 5 - Department of Drug Crime Investigation Police (Ministry of Public Security), and 20 million VND to Department of Drug Crime Investigation Police (Long An Provincial Police).
This is a recognition of the outstanding achievements of the units in coordinating the fight against and destroying major drug rings in the area, said Colonel Pham Thanh Tam.
Previously, on the evening of February 24, 2025, at an apartment in Moi Hamlet 2, My Hanh Nam Commune, Duc Hoa District, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Long An Provincial Police coordinated with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department and Duc Hoa District Police to catch 3 subjects red-handed: Duong The Dinh (29 years old, residing in Sa Dec City, Dong Thap Province), Huynh Huu Phuoc (33 years old, residing in Tam Binh District, Vinh Long Province) and Chu Thi Thanh Thuy (29 years old, residing in Hiep Hoa Town, Duc Hoa District, Long An Province) for illegal drug trafficking and possession. The seized evidence was 4,610.9 grams of synthetic drugs.
Then, in the early morning of March 9, 2025, at a karaoke bar in Zone B, Hau Nghia Town, Duc Hoa District, the authorities continued to discover and catch Tran Thi Hue Phuong (54 years old) and Tran Thien Tam (40 years old, both residing in Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City) red-handed for illegally buying, selling and organizing the use of drugs. The authorities seized 12.8655 grams of drugs.
According to Long An Provincial Police, the above achievements demonstrate the proactiveness, high sense of responsibility and strong determination of the police force in drug prevention and control, contributing to maintaining security and order and ensuring a peaceful life for the people.
