On January 25, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, An Giang Provincial Police said they are temporarily detaining 2 subjects including: Nguyen Hoang Lam (born 2007, residing in Quarter 7 Duong Dong, Phu Quoc Special Zone) and Huynh An Khang (born 2003, residing in Hoa Hung hamlet, Tan Phuoc Hung commune, Can Tho city) to investigate the act of illegally possessing drugs.
According to initial information, at about 8 pm on January 12, 2026, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department coordinated with Phu Quoc Special Zone Police to conduct an administrative inspection of the room of H.L restaurant, located in Duong Dong neighborhood 11.
Through inspection, the police force caught Nguyen Hoang Lam and Huynh An Khang red-handed organizing the illegal use of drugs.
At the scene, functional forces seized a piece of white plastic pipe about 9.7cm long, which is a tool used to use drugs. Working with the police agency, Nguyen Hoang Lam confessed that the drugs used were Ketamine, which Lam bought from a person named Hien (identity and background unknown) to use during a birthday party.
Currently, the case is being further investigated and handled by the Police Agency to handle the subjects according to the provisions of law.
