Bringing high-quality healthcare to disadvantaged people
Returning from a trip called "Green Canh En", Nguyen Thanh Long - a third-year student at Hanoi Medical University has not yet been reassured.
"More than 400 people have been examined and given medicine for free; 1 school medicine cabinet has been built; 10 gifts were given to disadvantaged households and many other activities... This trip is truly meaningful for all of us medical students", Nguyen Thanh Long shared.
"Green Swallow" is a 2025 Highland Volunteer activity directed by the National Volunteer Center, organized by the Nghe An Heartland Volunteer Student Team of Hanoi Medical University, in coordination with the Lang Son Provincial Youth Union, the Lang Son Provincial Department of Health, the Chi Lang District Youth Union District (Lang Son) and a number of other units.
During the 2 days of implementation (from March 22 to 23), the volunteer group visited Bang Huu and Lien Son communes (Chi Lang district, Lang Son province) to visit and distribute free medicine to students and people, and give gifts to disadvantaged households.

According to Master, Doctor in Residence (BSNT) Phan Van Tan - Department of plastic surgery and cosmetic micro-surgery, Hanoi Medical University Hospital (head of the team), this volunteer activity is a combination of two generations, including medical students and doctors to contribute positive values to the community.
"We are making efforts to implement more programs like this, so that people in remote areas, areas, and areas with special difficulties can access closer to free, higher-quality health check-ups and consultations," said Master, Dr. Phan Van Tan.
Bang Huu and Lien Son are two disadvantaged communes of Chi Lang district (Lang Son province), the people here live mainly on agriculture, and their lives still face many difficulties, including health care.
According to Mr. Cap Trong Vinh - Principal of Bang Huu Primary and Secondary School, students here are still receiving regular health check-ups from local health stations, but there are many limitations, while going to large health facilities for examination is also very difficult.
"We are very happy to have free and high-quality health examination programs like this and hope that the activities will be organized regularly," the Principal of Bang Huu Primary and Secondary School shared.

"Green Canh En" is a practical activity to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1930 - March 26, 2025).
