On the Gulf of Tonkin, on the night of February 2, northeast winds were recorded at level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas. The North East Sea area was also affected with winds at level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas.
Forecast for the day and night of February 3, the Northeast wind in the Gulf of Tonkin continues to strengthen to level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, waves 2-3m high. In the North East Sea area (including Hoang Sa archipelago), the Northeast wind gradually strengthens to level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9, waves 3-5m high. In particular, from the night of February 3, strong winds will spread to the sea area from Quang Tri to Binh Thuan, the area between the East Sea and the Southwest East Sea (including the sea area west of Truong Sa archipelago) with similar levels, waves 2-4m high. The level of natural disaster risk due to strong winds at sea is warned at level 2.
Authorities in central provinces such as Quang Nam and Quang Ngai have issued forecasts of rough seas and warned that all ships operating in these sea areas are at high risk of being affected by tornadoes, strong winds and large waves.
