On February 19, Saigon Railway Joint Stock Company coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Tien Commune, Trang Bom District to organize a general cleaning and tree planting ceremony along the railway corridor.
On the morning of February 19, more than 100 yellow bell-flowered trees were planted along the railway corridor (from Km 1677 + 800 to Km 1677 + 900 in the two hamlets of Quang Bien, Quang Hoa, Quang Tien commune, Trang Bom district).
Saigon Railway Joint Stock Company also organized a campaign to plant trees in all affiliated units in Muong Man area (Binh Thuan province), Long Khanh city and Trang Bom district (Dong Nai province), Di An city (Binh Duong province) and in Thu Duc city area (HCMC).
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Dinh Ha - Director of Saigon Railway Joint Stock Company said that from 2023 to now, the company has coordinated with localities to plant more than 13 km of flower tracks and 68 locations along the railway line through Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai and Binh Thuan. The number of planted flower plants has grown well, and has been periodically taken care of by the railway unit and local authorities, creating many beautiful routes.
This result, in addition to the efforts of the units in the company, also has the coordination, support and enthusiastic support of the local government and people living along both sides of the railway - Mr. Ha emphasized.
Within Dong Nai province, Saigon Railway Joint Stock Company and the People's Committee of Xuan Truong commune (Xuan Loc district) have constructed more than 1 km of flower road at Km 1628-1629, Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line. The company has invested nearly 1 billion VND to build more than 0.5 km of a 3 m wide concrete road and plant flowers along both sides of the road to the Railway cemetery in Tay Hoa commune.
In 2025, the company aims to plant an additional 15 km (twice as many years ago) of flower lines along the railway corridor. In Dong Nai alone, about 6-7 km of flower roads will be planted.
According to Mr. Ha, the "flower road - train road" movement aims to build a beautiful landscape along the train route, creating a more comfortable and friendly feeling for train passengers, raising people's awareness of environmental protection, contributing to building a green - clean - beautiful railway as well as improving the surrounding environment.
By May 19, the company will launch a second campaign, ensuring 1 km of flower road along the railway line through Quang Tien commune, Trang Bom district with a green - clean - beautiful environment.
Also at the launching ceremony, Saigon Railway Joint Stock Company and the People's Committee of Quang Tien commune signed a commitment to mobilize local people to join hands in maintaining hygiene and taking care of trees planted in the railway corridor.
