Young man suspected of committing suicide, jumped into Saigon River in Ho Chi Minh City

HCMC - A 28-year-old man suspected of committing suicide left his sandals and wallet and jumped into the Saigon River from Binh Loi Bridge. Police are urgently searching for the victim.

On the afternoon of April 8, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police (PC07) of Ho Chi Minh City Police is still urgently searching for a young man who is believed to have jumped into the Saigon River from Binh Loi Bridge.

The incident occurred at around 4:30 p.m. the same day, when many people were traveling through Binh Loi Bridge, in the direction from Tan Son Nhat Airport to Linh Xuan overpass (in Hiep Binh Chanh Ward, Thu Duc City). They suddenly witnessed a young man leaving a pair of sandals and a wallet on the bridge, then climbing over the railing and falling into the river.

Witnessnesses said that after falling into the water, this young man had to hold on for a few seconds before sinking completely. Too panicked, people quickly called the authorities.

Immediately after receiving the report, PC07 Police dispatched a canoe and a team of fishermen to the scene to search for the victim.

At the scene, the authorities found a citizen ID card named N.N.H, 28 years old, from Phu Yen province. Currently, the search is still being actively deployed, and the authorities are also verifying information related to the incident.
