On May 7, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee said that in the first 4 months of 2025, in the context of many difficulties and challenges, the province still achieved many positive indicators in socio-economic development.
The industrial development index in April increased to 19.6%, bringing the accumulated increase in the first 4 months of the year to 12.31%. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue increased by 27.97% in the month and 21.32% in the first 4 months - a high increase compared to the national average.
Import-export turnover in the first 4 months is estimated at 1.14 billion USD, up 28.4% over the same period. State budget revenue in the area reached VND 8,980 billion, equal to 50.7% of the annual estimate and increasing by 5.6% over the same period last year; of which domestic revenue reached VND 8,389 billion - reflecting the stability of the real economy.
In the investment sector, Nghe An attracted an additional VND 7,455.5 billion in newly granted and adjusted capital, of which foreign direct investment (FDI) reached USD 122.4 million.
During the 5-day April 30 - May holiday, the whole province welcomed and served about 1.18 million visitors, an increase of 23% over the same period. The opening ceremony of Cua Lo Tourism in 2025 along with a series of exciting cultural, sports and tourism activities have contributed to the strong growth of accommodation, dining and commercial services.
Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh said that the Provincial People's Committee has directed departments, branches and localities to focus highly on growth goals, prepare to operate the two-level government model, and at the same time remove difficulties for businesses and people.
Localities, departments and units need to closely follow the adjusted growth scenario, flexibly exploiting leftovers in agriculture, processing industry, and services to strive to achieve and exceed the growth target of 10.5% in 2025 Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee emphasized.
