New Year's holiday, thousands of people come to Quang Ngai to jog

On the morning of January 1, in Quang Ngai City, more than 2,000 athletes participated in the marathon named "Run to welcome Spring 2025".

This is the third consecutive year that the Quang Ngai Athletics Federation has coordinated with the Quang Ngai City People's Committee to organize a marathon to welcome the New Year to promote the tourism image of the homeland of An Mountain and Tra River.

According to Mr. Phan Anh - Chairman of Quang Ngai Athletics Federation, this marathon event is the largest in Quang Ngai province so far with over 2,000 athletes participating, including more than 400 athletes from provinces and cities in the country and some foreigners from Korea, China...

Athletes participated in the race at many distances, from 6km to 42km, following routes starting from Ba To Park through Hoang Sa and Truong Sa streets along both banks of Tra Khuc River.

On the 42km route alone, athletes will run across Tra Khuc 1 bridge, Hoang Sa and Truong Sa roads, Co Luy bridge, Thach Bich bridge...

The race is part of a series of cultural and sports events to stimulate tourism, with the aim of promoting the image of Quang Ngai's homeland and people. The event aims to effectively exploit the strengths of investment in tourism development, contributing to economic development and social security; developing the running movement among young people and the masses.

Through the marathon, new factors in the running movement will be discovered to foster and improve achievements; resources will be promoted, socialization of sports activities will be promoted, community health training will be promoted, and disease prevention will be prevented.

At the end of the race, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the athletes. In the 21 km distance, the first prize for women went to athlete Tran Thi Bich Ly; the first prize for men went to athlete Duong Van Quang. In the 10 km distance, the first prize for women went to athlete Ao Thi Hoang; the first prize for men went to athlete Dinh Duy Khanh. In the 6 km distance, the first prize for women went to athlete Le Thi Kim Bi; the first prize for men went to athlete Nguyen Thanh Hai.
