The marathon “Con Son - Kiep Bac - Journey of connecting cultural heritage 2025” is one of many activities within the framework of the Con Son - Kiep Bac Spring Festival (Chi Linh City, Hai Duong Province) in 2025. This is the second time the tournament is held, according to the Organizing Committee, there will be more than 1,600 participants in many different distances.
Notably, there were athletes who made their mark at national and international tournaments, such as: Nguyen Thi Oanh, Nguyen Trung Cuong, Luong Duc Phuoc, Bui Thi Thu Ha... In addition, nearly 20 athletes from the Vietnam athletics team also participated, under the guidance of coach Tran Van Sy.
Of these, two new distances of 21 km attracted nearly 900 athletes, demonstrating a strong appeal to those who love mid-range challenges. The 42 km distance was no less exciting, attracting more than 300 athletes ready to conquer their own limits.
On the routes around the Con Son - Kiep Bac relic site (Hai Duong province), the Organizing Committee has planned to inspect and deploy specific traffic control plans to ensure the safety of athletes as well as limit traffic conflicts with tourists participating in the Con Son - Kiep Bac Spring Festival 2025.
At National Highway 37, km 92 + 600 and km 92 + 950 (An Linh intersection), the Organizing Committee will requisition a section of road, vehicles will be stopped in both directions when athletes run through. The road closure is expected to last from 20 - 30 minutes (from the first athlete to the last one passing through this area).
The race is the highlight of the Con Son - Kiep Bac Spring Festival in 2025, contributing to promoting the image of the Con Son - Kiep Bac relic site in the process of building a dossier on the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac relic complex of the three provinces of Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, and Bac Giang to submit to UNESCO for recognition as a world heritage site.
