Soc Trang - The province is determined to retain workers through many solutions, contributing to socio-economic development.

On the afternoon of March 28, leaders of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee had a working session with enterprises in the area, to listen to comments and recommendations to achieve the planned economic growth target of 8%.

At the meeting, many businesses shared difficulties and problems in the production and business process, especially the shortage of labor. Many local workers tend to move to Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong to seek job opportunities, while in Soc Trang, there are still many businesses in need of workers.

Mr. Tran Van Lau - Chairman of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee, said that in addition to salary levels, businesses need to have preferential policies to attract and retain workers.

"Enterprises must consider employees as family members so that they can be connected and work with peace of mind. The province will also create conditions for building workers' housing and providing accommodation for workers," said Mr. Lau.

Mr. Lau informed that in April, the province will inaugurate the infrastructure of Xay Da B Industrial Cluster in Chau Thanh district and Tran De Industrial Park, expected to create more than 20,000 jobs. This year, 2 housing projects for workers will also start construction. The locality has also cooperated with Can Tho University to establish a branch in Soc Trang and is about to start construction of Viet Nhat Vocational College and Soc Trang FPT School to train highly skilled human resources.

In addition to labor issues, businesses also recommended that the province pay attention to solving problems related to credit capital, intellectual property protection, product traceability, shortening the time to handle administrative procedures, developing transport infrastructure, electricity, water, etc.
