Fine of 65 million VND, confiscation of illegal sand mining equipment

A man in Lam Dong was just fined 65 million VND and had all his vehicles confiscated for illegally mining and transporting sand .

On September 9, the People's Committee of Bao Lam district issued a decision to administratively sanction Mr. Cao Van Tinh, residing in Nam Ninh commune, Cat Tien district, Lam Dong, for illegal exploitation and transportation of minerals.

According to the Decision on administrative sanctions, Mr. Cao Van Tinh illegally exploited and transported 25 cubic meters of sand on the Dong Nai River in Hamlet 3, Loc Bao Commune, Bao Lam District.

At the time Mr. Tinh hired people to use ships to illegally mine sand on the Dong Nai River, he was caught red-handed by Bao Lam District Police.

For the above act, Mr. Cao Van Tinh was administratively fined 65 million VND and additional penalties: Confiscation of 25 cubic meters due to illegal exploitation and transportation; Confiscation of 1 iron ship, 1 suction pump system which are means used for illegal sand exploitation and many other related exhibits.
