On the morning of July 9, the Organizing Committee of the "Student - Student Basketball Tournament: Vietnam Education Electronic Magazine Cup & MVP Academy 2025" held a launching event and an official technical meeting of the tournament.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Binh - Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Education e-magazine said: "This is the first inter-level basketball tournament organized professionally, gathering student teams to compete and spread the passion for orange balls".
In the first organization, the tournament gathered nearly 50 men's and women's teams, with over 700 athletes, from junior high schools, high schools, universities - colleges and basketball training centers in Hanoi.
The competition period is 3 months, from July to September 2025. The tournament is expected to become an annual playground for students across the country.
A new point of the GMB League is the insurance policy for athletes. Specifically, in matches from the group stage to the final, the security - medical team will always closely accompany the competition locations. In particular, from the semi-finals to the finals, athletes will be equipped with insurance for each match and each competition day.
Mr. Dinh Duc Manh - Head of Basketball, Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports, Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Basketball Federation assessed that basketball is a team sport that trains endurance, skill, develops the physical condition and stature of Vietnamese people.
"GMB League is a methodical start, which needs to be expanded to create more opportunities for exchange and learning for young people" - Mr. Manh expressed his expectations.
