According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Giang province, this locality will organize a marathon on Hanh Phuc street on February 22 and 23. Including the section through Ma Pi Leng Pass, a long, rugged pass connecting the two mountainous districts of Dong Van and Meo Vac.
The race will have the participation of nearly 2,000 athletes in distances of 6 km, 12 km, 21 km, 42 km, 50 km and 70 km. This is also the opening activity within the framework of the Khau Vai Furniture Market Festival (Meo Vac District) in 2025.
Next, the Khau Vai Furniture Market Festival takes place on April 23 and 24 with many activities to experience the Mong cultural space, weaving linen, weaving, throwing, and dancing with Khen.
According to the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Giang province, the above events contribute to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities, introducing and promoting local scenic spots.
At the same time, promote the title of "Ha Giang - Asia's Leading Tourist Destination" and "Asia's Leading Regional Cultural Destination", attracting domestic and foreign tourists.
Ma Pi Leng Pass is located on National Highway 4C, this is a dangerous pass about 20 km long, part of Hanh Phuc Street (Road 4C connecting Ha Giang City and 4 mountainous districts of the rocky mountains) built by tens of thousands of young volunteers from 8 provinces over 6 years (1959-1965).
The Ma Pi Leng overpass section was climbed by the young men in the leadership group on the cliff every kilometre to do for 11 months. Ma Pi Leng Pass is classified by tourists as one of the "four great mountain passes" of the northern mountainous region of Vietnam, along with O Quy Ho Pass, Khau Pha Pass and Pha Din Pass.
