Students in Da Nang recently organized a recycled fashion design and show to connect with the disabled community.

On January 2, Danang University of Architecture (DAU), Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) in collaboration with the Center for Community Inclusion Research and Support (CORMIS) organized a Fashion Show with the theme "Connecting communities through embossed textile art and fashion".

The recycled fashion show aims to convey the message of environmental protection to the disadvantaged, spreading humane and meaningful messages in the community.

At the show, students and members of the disabled community in Da Nang performed in costumes designed by the students.

To create unique costumes for the performance, student groups had meetings, conversations and brainstormed ideas with disabled people. Here, students learned about the needs and preferences of each individual to design suitable and highly applicable costumes.

During the working process, the groups discussed together, came up with design ideas and created impressive products.

This is not only an opportunity for students to apply their knowledge into practice, but also an important bridge, helping to build understanding, sharing and promoting integration among participants.
