At noon on October 4, Cua Tung Border Guard Station (Quang Tri Border Guard) confirmed that the unit had just rescued a sunken fishing boat at Cua Tung port (Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province).
Earlier, on the same morning, the fishing boat with registration number QT-10164 TS with a capacity of 24CV owned by Mr. Tran Van Tinh (born in 1977, residing in An Hoa 1 quarter, Cua Tung town) was anchored in the port when it sank.
The border guards, together with local authorities and residents, organized a rescue operation. At around 10am on October 4, the fishing boat was pulled ashore for repairs.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fishing boat sinking.
