On January 21, the Kien Giang Provincial Police Staff Department held a conference to summarize 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.
In 2024, the General Staff Department proactively advised, thoroughly grasped and seriously implemented the policies and directions of the Party Committee and the Provincial Police Department's Board of Directors, concretized and resolutely deployed tasks to ensure security and order, and build the People's Police force.
The content of the consultation was implemented with focus and key points, thereby promoting all aspects of the provincial police work. Leaders, officers and soldiers promoted the sense of responsibility, determination in work and excellently completed the tasks, achieving and exceeding 16/16 assigned police work targets (exceeding 6 targets).
The General Staff Department has effectively directed the work of ensuring national security, avoiding passive and unexpected situations. At the same time, it has helped the Party Committee and the Provincial Police Department advise the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to issue more than 50 documents directing and assessing the national security situation in the province. It has established a Steering Committee to resolve complaints and denunciations of large numbers of people, complicated and prolonged, and has perfected the Steering Committee on Human Rights of Kien Giang province.
In addition, the General Staff Department also advised the Provincial Public Security Party Committee to issue many important documents, including the Resolution on basic professional work of the people's security force in 2024, which was assessed to have excellently completed its tasks.
The Department has also advised and directed plans to drastically implement peak periods, typically the peak period of reviewing and handling subjects participating in reactionary and opposing associations and groups on cyberspace; the peak period of detecting, investigating and strictly handling violations of IUU fishing.
Timely advise on the issuance of documents for implementation and report on interim and final summaries of security work in accordance with regulations. Chair and coordinate the organization of conferences related to security work, especially the conference to review the coordination of security protection and border order maintenance between Kien Giang Provincial Police and the Police of 3 border provinces.
Speaking at the conference, Colonel Nguyen Van Han - Director of Kien Giang Provincial Police - acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the General Staff Department in 2024. Colonel Nguyen Van Han affirmed that these achievements are clear evidence of the efforts, sense of responsibility and solidarity of the collective of officers and soldiers in staff work, ensuring security and order.
Colonel Nguyen Van Han requested that in 2025, the General Staff Department continue to promote administrative reform, improve the effectiveness of staff work and apply information technology in all aspects of work, continue to improve the quality of staff work, ensure that all instructions and plans are implemented in a methodical and effective manner, meeting work requirements in the new situation.
