Attracting FDI investment in Hai Duong has high growth potential

In 2024, Hai Duong mobilized many resources to implement projects and works to serve socio-economic development and attract investment.

According to the Hai Duong Provincial Statistics Office, in addition to key traffic routes such as the North-South, East-West axes, Dong Viet bridge approach road, the intersection with the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway..., Hai Duong province also focuses on developing social housing to ensure the housing needs of experts, workers, and laborers, creating a peaceful living environment, convenient services, and safe security.

Along with that, Hai Duong province actively implements solutions to improve the quality of human resources, train workers to meet the needs of enterprises to meet the production and business requirements of enterprises. The total social development investment capital in 2024 is estimated at 64,615 billion VND, an increase of 12.6% compared to 2023.

Investment promotion activities were strengthened. Domestic investment attraction achieved positive results, with an estimated 217 domestic investment projects with a total registered capital of VND 11,489 billion. Of which, Hai Duong province approved new investment policies for 53 projects (VND 8,048 billion), adjusted capital increases for 164 projects (VND 3,441 billion); and announced the termination of 11 projects.

Attracting foreign investment, as of December 25 (in 2024), the province has newly granted 70 projects with a total newly granted capital of 457.7 million USD. Of which, the projects are mainly in the processing and manufacturing industry from Chinese investors (31 projects), Hong Kong (China, 17 projects), Taiwan (China, 5 projects).

FDI attraction in 2024 is the second highest (after 2023) in the past 10 years, signaling the potential for high growth in 2025.

Regarding business development, support activities for small and medium enterprises focus on training, consulting, information, support for conversion from business households, creative startups and participation in industry clusters and value chains, to help businesses gradually recover and create momentum for development; strongly developing the private economy is truly a driving force, strengthening the connection between the FDI sector and the domestic economic sector.

It is estimated that in 2024, 2,000 new enterprises will be granted business registration certificates, an increase of 6.2% compared to 2023 (not reaching the target of 15% increase), with a total registered capital of about 30,400 billion VND.

During the year, about 750 enterprises returned to operation, equal to 89.1% compared to 2023, and about 2,030 enterprises dissolved or ceased operations, an increase of 15.2%. The collective economic sector and cooperatives continued to develop, promoting their role as a link in production, business, product consumption, and creating sustainable value chains.
