On November 8, the Office of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province announced that the province was honored with the Smart City Award - ASOCIO Smart City Award within the framework of the ASOCIO DX Award Ceremony 2024 organized by the Asian - Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) in Tokyo, Japan.
The ASOCIO DX Award is the most prestigious IT award in the region, organized annually by ASOCIO to honor individuals, organizations and businesses with outstanding achievements in the application and development of information technology. The award is given to candidates from 24 ASOCIO member economies, and only these members have the right to nominate.
This year, the ASOCIO DX Award was presented in 10 categories, including: Outstanding Technology Enterprise; Smart City; Digital Government; Digital Education; Digital Healthcare; Cybersecurity; ESG (Environment, Society and Governance); Ecosystem and Digital Solutions; Women in Technology; and Partnership.
Vietnam has 9 excellent representatives honored at ASOCIO DX Award 2024. Of which, Thua Thien Hue is proud to be the recipient of the Smart City Award - ASOCIO Smart City Award, recognizing the province's efforts in building smart cities and promoting digital transformation.
In recent times, Thua Thien Hue has vigorously implemented e-government, smart city and digital transformation programs, achieving many impressive results on national rankings. These efforts have brought the province many prestigious awards, such as the 2019 Asia Telecom Awards in the category of "Most Innovative Smart City Project". The Hue-S platform and the province's digital services have received the Sao Khue Award for 5 consecutive years.
In particular, in 2022, Thua Thien Hue was honored to receive the ASOCIO award in the field of Digital Government. Thua Thien Hue also marked its 4th position out of 63 provinces and cities in the digital transformation index in 2022 and ranked No. 1 nationwide in the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) in 2023.
The Hue-S platform, considered a symbol of success in the process of building e-government and digital transformation of Thua Thien Hue, has achieved many remarkable achievements. All of the province's smart urban services have been integrated into this platform, helping to effectively connect with people and businesses. To date, Hue-S has had more than 1 million downloads with more than 900,000 registered accounts, of which more than 800,000 accounts are people in the province.
In addition to short-term goals, Resolution 54-NQ/TW of 2019 of the Politburo on the construction and development of Thua Thien Hue province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, has set the following goals: By 2030, Thua Thien Hue will be one of the major, unique centers of Southeast Asia in terms of culture, tourism and specialized healthcare; one of the major centers of the country in terms of science and technology, multi-disciplinary, multi-field, high-quality education and training; national defense and security will be firmly ensured; the Party Committee, government and the entire political system will be strong; the material and spiritual life of the people will reach a high level. With a vision to 2045, Thua Thien Hue will be a Festival city, a unique center of culture, education, tourism and specialized healthcare in Asia.
