According to the Organizing Committee, in recent days, the temperature in many localities has reached 38 degrees Celsius, leading to a skyrocketing demand for electricity, especially household electricity and cooling power, causing great pressure on the national power system.
Mr. Vo Quang Lam - Deputy General Director of EVN - said that EVN has proactively developed power supply scenarios suitable for all situations to ensure national energy security in the context of the GDP growth target of over 8%.
In 2025, EVN sets a target of commercial electricity reaching 300,5 billion kWh, with a reserve plan of up to 305.6 billion kWh to meet the high-growth electricity scenario. EVN also focuses on completing a number of key projects to meet the electricity needs of people and businesses.
Along with technical solutions and investment, EVN focuses on implementing propaganda, raising public awareness of safe and economical use of electricity, especially during the hot season.
Representatives of EVNSPC and EVNHCMC said that these units have developed a plan for electricity supply in 2025 every month and every year for implementation. At the same time, coordinate to increase propaganda on the use of electricity economically, safely and effectively. Installing rooftop solar power is considered an important solution to help reduce the load on the power system during peak hours.
