Ba Ria - Vung Tau - Organizing information security and incident response drills to improve the capacity of members on real information systems.

On October 8, the Department of Information and Communications of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province organized an "information security and incident response drill" in 2024.

The program is organized with the aim of moving from formal exercises on simulated systems to practical exercises, linking the exercises to real, operational information systems.

Through the practical exercises, the Information Security Task Force and the Provincial Incident Response Team will be trained in skills and experience; and have the capacity to handle incidents occurring in the provincial system. At the same time, members will always be on standby, ready to handle incidents and attacks (if any) in reality.

The Department of Information and Communications said that the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province identified digital transformation as one of the key and consistent tasks in the leadership and direction of Party committees at all levels, the activities of agencies, organizations, people and businesses; an important driving force for development and best serving the socio-economic development process of the province.

Recently, the province has been implementing many solutions to develop e-government, digital government, digital economy, and promote digital transformation. In particular, digital transformation work at state agencies focuses on developing digital infrastructure to serve activities in a centralized and smooth manner...

At the same time, to ensure the smooth operation of the digital government system, secure information systems, timely detection, and minimal limitation of cyber attacks, the task of ensuring the security of the Document Management and Administration Information System of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is extremely important. In particular, the response to network information security incidents is an activity to promptly detect, prevent, handle, and remedy network information security incidents.

With that spirit, network information security and information incident response are key factors for successful and sustainable digital transformation. Therefore, organizing the annual Information Security and Incident Response Drill in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is important and urgent, aiming to improve the capacity of members of the Incident Response Team; Information Security Task Force of the province.

This year, the exercise was organized by the Department of Information and Communications of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in a real system, with real models and real processes to create skills to handle real situations when they occur, creating standard processes for members of the Incident Response Team; the Provincial Information Security Task Force to apply in the coming time.
