The golden land area of thousands of square meters, has the Se San hotel building abandoned for many years. The land has 2 main frontages on Hung Vuong and Tran Hung Dao streets, the bustling center of Pleiku city.
The building was damaged and seriously degraded, causing many people in the mountain town to feel regretful and heartbroken.
Mr. Nguyen Lan - a resident of Pleiku city said: "People have long not understood why the prime land has been abandoned, and the authorities have not reinvested in any construction projects.
Dilapidated houses not only ruin the urban appearance of the mountain town, but also waste land tax revenue for the State.
Similarly, the thousands of square meters of land belonging to the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee Guest House has been vacant and degraded for many years. Inside the premises, weeds grow wildly, the concrete is rotten and peeling...
This golden land is also located on two bustling main roads of Pleiku, Le Hong Phong and Dinh Tien Hoang.
Mr. Tran Van Hai - a resident of Pleiku city said: "If the land is not used for any project, it can be arranged to be a green park, creating a cool space for the city, rather than leaving the project and land empty, which is both wasteful and unsightly for the city."
Regarding the abandoned prime lands, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested the Pleiku City People's Committee to review and inspect the planning and land use plans at these locations and promptly rearrange public assets according to regulations.
At the same time, there are directions to propose plans to put the land into effective use, for the right purposes according to legal regulations.
Gia Lai is the province with the second largest natural area in the country. To avoid land resources being abandoned and wasted, the province will reclaim the forest land areas encroached by people to plant forests to serve socio-economic development.
As for more than 12,000 hectares of ineffective rubber land in border districts, the Provincial People's Committee will consider and study the conversion of crop structure, in accordance with forestry planning, and effective use of resources.
