On June 25, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction coordinated with the Public Transport Management Center to organize a ceremony to honor 30 outstanding individuals who are bus drivers and service staff. The event is part of the program "Thanks for Accompanying - Smart Connection" to recognize the contribution of bus operators to the digital transformation process and modernization of the city's public transport.
At the ceremony, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction affirmed that the team of drivers and service staff is the "heart" of the public transport system. They not only ensure the criteria of safety, on time, and standard attitude, but also play a key role in supporting people, especially the elderly, children and those who are not familiar with technology, to access non-cash payment methods.

According to the assessment criteria, the honored individuals have demonstrated a sense of responsibility, service, and beautiful actions such as returning lost property to customers, actively participating in community movements, and supporting passengers to access electronic payments. These contributions have helped enhance the image of Ho Chi Minh City buses to become more modern, civilized and more friendly to the people.
Also within the framework of the program, the Department of Construction and the Public Transport Management Center officially launched the emulation movement "Touching all the tasks - giving the prize". This campaign aims to encourage drivers and service staff to innovate service styles, improve service quality and actively support passengers to use cashless payment methods. The emulation results will be evaluated through the total number of cashless transactions recorded through the POS system installed on the bus, with weekly and monthly rewards.
Currently, the Open Loop payment system has been deployed on 891 buses and is expected to be completed on all 2,000 vehicles by July 2025. People can easily pay by bank card, e-wallet or smart device. Integrating cashless payments with other means of transport such as metro, river bus and public bicycles is contributing to the completion of Ho Chi Minh City's smart transportation ecosystem.

The event is not only an opportunity to honor silent individuals but also demonstrates Ho Chi Minh City's determination in comprehensively transforming the public passenger transport sector, taking people as the center and experience as a measure of success. This is an important step on the journey to build a green, smart and sustainable city.
