Exciting Spring Festival in Western Nghe An

The 2025 "Spring Colors of Western Nghe An" festival with many special performances brought a bustling and exciting Tet atmosphere.

On the evening of January 20, in Chi Khe commune (Con Cuong district), the "Spring Colors of Western Nghe An" Festival 2025 took place, chaired by the Department of Culture and Sports, in coordination with the People's Committee of Con Cuong district.

At the program, artists, folk artisans and mass art troupes of Nghe An province performed folk songs, folk music, folk dances; excerpts of traditional folk festival rituals and traditional costumes of Nghe An ethnic minorities; and exchanges in drumming, gong playing, carving, and bamboo dancing to celebrate the Spring Festival between districts.

In particular, the art program “The West is Radiant in Spring” is divided into 3 parts: “New Colors of the West”, “Echoes of the Mountains and Forests” and “The West is Radiant in Spring” which are the highlights of the event.

The special singing and dancing performances in the program reflected the attractive cultural colors of the Kinh, Thai, Tho, Mong, Kho Mu, and O Du ethnic groups in Western Nghe An.

Earlier, in the afternoon of the same day, at the Chi Khe Commune Stadium, Con Cuong District, there were folk games of Nghe An ethnic minorities such as throwing shuttlecocks, walking on stilts, tug of war; tourism promotion activities, displaying and introducing typical cultural and tourism products of the people of Western Nghe An.

The "Spring Colors of Western Nghe An" Festival 2025 is a unique cultural event held annually for ethnic minorities in 11 mountainous districts of Nghe An province on the occasion of Lunar New Year.

This year is the 10th year this event has been held, aiming to preserve and promote the good customs and practices of the ethnic communities in Western Nghe An during the traditional Tet holiday.
