Vietnam - Laos tighten solidarity in "March Border"

Quang Tri - The Border March program is organized by Huong Lap Border Guard Station in coordination with the locality to care for the lives of people on both sides of the border.

On March 14 and 15, in Huong Viet and Huong Lap communes (Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province), Huong Lap Border Guard Station (Quang Tri Border Guard) coordinated with local authorities and benefactors to organize the "Thung Ba Thuong Border" program.

The program includes many key contents such as Vietnam - Laos youth friendship exchanges, reviewing the special tradition of solidarity between the two countries, and at the same time affirming the responsibility of the young generation in maintaining and promoting friendship, building peaceful borders, and cooperating for mutual development.

One of the outstanding activities was the groundbreaking of the construction of a "Border Warm House" worth 70 million VND for Mr. Ho Van Rach's family (A Soc - Cha Ly village, Huong Lap commune). In addition, the program also organizes free haircuts for people with the activity of "Tay Tran Border"; planting friendly trees at milestone 591; coordinating with the Youth Union of Huong Lap commune to repair 150m of inter-village road.

In addition, many gifts to support economic development were presented, including breeding pigs, 12,000 chickens, ducks, 7,000 breeding fish to village elders, village chiefs, and prestigious people in the border areas, Border Guard Company 321, La Co Police Station (Laos); officers, teachers and students of La Co Primary School, La Co Ethnic Boarding Secondary School (Laos) and disadvantaged households in Huong Viet and Huong Lap communes. In addition, the unit also awarded 10 scholarships to students in difficult circumstances and 50 boards to boarding students in Laos. The total value of activities in the program is up to more than 300 million VND.

The "Border March" program is a practical activity in response to the "I love my Fatherland" movement launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, implemented annually in disadvantaged border communes across the country, contributing to strengthening solidarity and improving the lives of people in border areas.
