Honoring 100 typical products of cooperatives

The first Mai An Tiem Award 2024 will honor 100 typical products of cooperatives (Coop Gold Product Awards 2024).

On December 5, information from the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance said that this unit will organize a ceremony to honor typical cooperative products and award the first Mai An Tiem Award in 2024 (Coop Gold Product Awards 2024) on December 11 in Hanoi.

Ms. Cao Xuan Thu Van - President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance - said that the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance chaired the ceremony to honor typical products of cooperatives and award the Mai An Tiem award for the first time in 2024. This award aims to recognize and honor products of cooperatives and cooperative unions with prestige, quality, competitiveness, large consumption markets, trusted by consumers, and actively contributing to the development of the collective economic sector and cooperatives; contributing to improving productivity, quality and competitiveness of products, meeting the requirements of domestic and foreign markets, promoting national identity, traditional values, and spreading in the community...

There were 100 typical products of cooperatives nationwide awarded the first Mai An Tiem award, including 75 products in the food and beverage sector, 10 medicinal products and medicinal preparations, 13 handicraft and small-scale industrial products, and 2 products in the tourism sector.

The participating products are diverse in types, outstanding in quality, many products meet OCOP standards from 3 - 5 stars or other prestigious titles awarded by central ministries, branches or provincial People's Committees. With beautiful designs, packaging, clear origin, the products not only win the trust of domestic consumers but also reach out to the international market.

To date, the country has 14,642 OCOP products with 3 stars or more. Among more than 7,000 OCOP entities, there are more than 2,000 cooperatives with OCOP products. OCOP products contribute to increasing value, helping entities increase production scale and revenue, of which 46% of OCOP products increased in output after being recognized as OCOP, sales revenue increased by an average of 30%, the proportion of OCOP products with prices increased by more than 50%, the average price increase was more than 17%. The OCOP program helps create more jobs, develop livelihoods in particularly difficult areas and disadvantaged groups; of which more than 34% of OCOP entities expanded production, 17% of workers are ethnic minorities in difficult areas, mountainous areas...
