On June 5, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province requested localities to strengthen the care, education and protection of children, as well as the Prime Minister's instructions related to preventing and combating child accidents and injuries.
During the summer vacation and when entering the peak of storms and floods, the People's Committees at the commune level are assigned the task of closely coordinating with organizations, unions and volunteer individuals to manage children in the locality.
At the same time, review and map areas at risk of drowning such as ponds, lakes, rivers, construction works... to have warning, warning and overcoming unsafe risks.
Khanh Hoa province directs the promotion of models for building a safe living environment for children such as: "Safe home", "Safe community", "Safe school" to minimize unfortunate accidents of injuries and drowning.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is assigned to preside over and coordinate with units to strengthen communication on preventing and combating child drowning - especially in coastal localities and areas with many rivers and streams.
On the side of the health sector, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Health to proactively develop a plan, prioritizing resources for the prevention and control of child injury accidents. At the same time, strengthen thematic and interdisciplinary inspections and self-review of the implementation of drowning prevention and control solutions in localities.
This move by Khanh Hoa province takes place in the context of the whole country continuously recording many tragic drowning incidents occurring during the summer vacation, mostly related to lack of supervision and warning in dangerous areas.
