On November 14, the People's Committee of An Giang province held a launching ceremony for the Month of Action for Gender Equality and Prevention and response to Gender-based Violence in 2025 with the theme "Gender Equality and Safety for Women and girls in the Digital Age". The launch period is from November 15 to December 15, 2025.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Truong Long Ho said that gender equality is one of the fundamental values of progress and social justice, a driving force for sustainable socio-economic development. In recent years, with the close attention and direction of the Central Government and the efforts of all levels and sectors, An Giang province has achieved many encouraging results in gender equality and for the advancement of women.
An Giang women today are increasingly affirming their role and position in many fields: from economic development, state management, education, health to start-ups, digital transformation. Many outstanding women have made important contributions to the development of their homeland.
However, besides the achieved results, there are still many difficulties and challenges to face. Gender-based violence still occurs in some places, especially in cyberspace - where the line between reality and reality is sometimes very fragile. Women and girls are likely to become victims of violence, harassment, fraud, or privacy violations on digital platforms. This is not only a social problem, but also a challenge of the times.
According to Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Truong Long Ho, digital transformation is not only a development opportunity, but also a requirement for ensuring equality and safety. Therefore, each agency, organization, each family and each individual needs to join hands to strengthen communication and education about gender equality, especially in the online environment; improve digital capacity for women and girls, helping them confidently access and use safe and effective technology; build a healthy, safe and humane online environment, say no to violence, discrimination and gender discrimination; each person is a "companion", a "protector" actively protecting women and children - both in real life and in the digital space.
The Month of Action for Gender Equality is not only a propaganda activity, but a widespread campaign, spreading a sense of responsibility and love in the community.

Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Truong Long Ho called on all levels and sectors to synchronously deploy communication, education, and support activities, especially the application of digital technology in preventing and responding to gender-based violence. Organizations, businesses and individuals should actively join hands, create more job opportunities, train digital skills, and build a safe and friendly working environment for women. Each family, each citizen should become the "cradle of gender equality", starting with the smallest actions in daily life.
On this occasion, An Giang province presented 10 gifts to typical cultural households that have done well in gender equality. Awarded support to 10 women from households in difficult circumstances who have the will to improve their lives and 10 scholarships to female students in difficult circumstances.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, the flower convoy cheered and union members and young people participated in a parade on major traffic routes in Rach Gia ward to propagate gender equality and prevent and respond to gender-based violence.
