According to Thanh Ha District Portal on March 13, on March 12, Thanh Ha District People's Court, Hai Duong tried Ma A Chung (H Mong ethnic group, born in 2005 in Ban Hop 2, Dao San commune, Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province) for the crime of "producing prohibited goods".
Because the defendant is an ethnic minority in a commune with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions, the trial was supported by the Hai Duong Provincial Legal Assistance Center.
According to the indictment, from about 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on December 19, 2024, in room 207 of Hoang Anh 1 motel, Xuan An village residential area, Thanh Ha town, Thanh Ha district, Ma A Chung used firecrackers, paper, scissors, 502 glue, burning lines... to manufacture nearly 7.4 kg of firecrackers for sale for profit, but was discovered and arrested by Thanh Ha district police.
At the trial, defendant Ma A Chung basically admitted his crime, had a sincere attitude in confessing, and repented. The trial panel sentenced defendant Ma A Chung to 12 months in prison.
