Traffic safety violations increased by 5.83%

Hanoi – In 2024, the Department of Transport Inspectorate handled more than 15,000 cases of traffic safety violations.

According to the Hanoi Department of Transport, in 2024, the Transport Inspectorate inspected and recorded 15,737 administrative violations, imposed administrative fines of more than VND 48 billion, temporarily detained 169 vehicles, revoked the right to use driving licenses (GPLX) for a period of 1,275 cases, revoked inspection stamps and technical safety and environmental protection certificates of 23 vehicles, and revoked vehicle badges of 739 vehicles. Compared to the same period in 2023, the number of administrative violation records increased by 867 cases (equivalent to 5.83%).

In December 2024 alone, the Department of Transport Inspectorate recorded 440 administrative violations, imposed fines of more than VND 1.1 billion, temporarily revoked driving licenses in 10 cases, and revoked transport business vehicle badges in 5 cases.

The Traffic Inspectorate regularly coordinates with the traffic police and district police to carry out the task of traffic flow control and congestion prevention at 143 locations and checkpoint areas (98 locations coordinate with the Traffic Police Department, 45 locations coordinate with district police).

The traffic inspection force promptly handled and resolved traffic safety situations and incidents, deployed emergency tasks, and coordinated to resolve traffic incidents and congestion points arising in the area.
