This is Kim Long Motor's first large-scale export contract in the Southeast Asian market, marking an important step in the journey to international stature of Vietnamese enterprises.
Kim Long Motor will provide two lines of 12m long EV electric buses and 7.5m diesel buses using Yuchai engines (a famous Chinese brand). Both car lines are researched and developed based on international technical standards and customized to suit climate conditions and transport infrastructure in Thailand.
The 12m EV electric bus model impresses with its modern, environmentally friendly design, using a large capacity battery, providing stable and smooth operation.
The 7.5m bus model uses a Yuchai engine that meets Euro 5 emission standards, is compact, flexible, suitable for inner-city traffic or short routes.
All Yuchai engines for buses will be produced right at Kim Long Motor Hue Engine Manufacturing and Manufacturing Factory (total investment capital of 260 million USD) with an automation level of more than 90%.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Dao Viet Anh - General Director of Kim Long Motor - said that after Korea, Thailand will be the next market to mark the presence of Kim Long buses. This is an important turning point in the integration process, and at the same time demonstrates the commitment to bringing high-quality, international standard commercial vehicles to the regional market, said Mr. Anh.
Mr. Khun Ju - Member of the Board of Directors of Cho Thavee Group - expressed his impression of Kim Long Motor's modern and professional production system. He said that this cooperation not only serves the strategy of developing a sustainable transportation network in Thailand, but also aims to expand the market to Southeast Asian countries in the coming time.
