Recently, readers have reported to Lao Dong Newspaper about the situation of many locations at the beginning of Huynh Thuc Khang Street, Ham Tien Ward, Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province, where many "potholes" and "chicken potholes" have appeared and rainwater has stagnated, creating dirty puddles. This is a route that passes through resorts, tourist areas and leads to Mui Ne.
Potholes have caused many accidents, including those of tourists.
Many tourist cars with license plates from different provinces and cities, when approaching this location, stopped and drove to the side of the road to avoid the holes on the road.
People also bring out foam boxes and place them at "potholes" to warn passersby to stay away.
Ms. Ly, a resident of this area, said that the patch usually fails after a few months. As Tet approaches, this situation is very dangerous for tourists and the beauty of the tourist route.
According to the records on the afternoon of January 9, these locations have been patched with cement concrete by the local authorities. Some locations with severe damage have been patched over large areas. However, cement concrete is very easy to peel off and this location has stagnant water causing a mess.
Previously, the leaders of Phan Thiet City People's Committee informed the press that the above road section is part of the project to repair and upgrade Nguyen Dinh Chieu and Huynh Thuc Khang streets (from Hoang Ngoc tourist area to Lang Chai intersection). The units are urgently implementing procedures to start construction.
Huynh Thuc Khang Street connects with Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, a coastal route leading to Ham Tien - Mui Ne, with many resorts, restaurants, hotels, and food services.
Every day, the traffic of cars and tourists on this road is very high. The upgrading and expansion of this road is being awaited by the locals and tourists.
