The Shark Seafood Building is becoming the focus of public opinion after the Hanoi People's Committee approved the proposal to demolish the "Shark Seafood Building", propose underground space in the existing Dong Kinh - Nghia Thuc Square area and space for expansion (after demolishing the "Shark Seafood Building").
In fact, the "Shark brothers" building is not the official name of this building. This was originally a commercial center at 7 Dinh Tien Hoang, built from around 1991 to 1993 on the foundation of the old and Ba Chi Bo Ho Electric Vehicle Building.
After more than 30 years of operation, the "Shark Dock" building has become a favorite destination for locals and tourists. This is a prime location chosen by many people and tourists to visit whenever there are fireworks programs and music festivals in the square.
The building has a view of Hoan Kiem Lake and Dong Kinh - Nghia Thuc Square. Currently, from the 2nd to the 6th floors are restaurants, cafes... with balconies with a panoramic view of the center of the capital.

This is a project designed by architect Ta Xuan Van. The architectural idea of the Hanoi Ham Ca Map building was nurtured by architect Ta Xuan Van while he walked from Hoan Kiem Lake, through the streets of the ancient city. This project is designed with curves, bringing harmony with the surrounding water towers. The design plan was selected and handed over to the investor.
However, during the construction process, the design of the building changed compared to the original idea of the architect. Right after the building was completed, the building became the center of discussion. People often call it the "Shark's Arms" building as a mockery because the design was not suitable for the landscape of Hoan Kiem Lake at that time.
However, the building has still become an architectural highlight of the central area of Hanoi.
Architect Ta Xuan Van once shared that he was very happy when many friends who often take photos of Hanoi streets recorded images of the "Shark's reward" building from different perspectives and times and sent them to him. The scene of people "going stormy" to celebrate the Vietnamese football team's victory in tournaments around this building also became one of the beautiful moments of Hanoi.
However, the story of this building is about to come to an end, to open a new chapter for the architecture and landscape of Dong Kinh - Nghia Thuc Square area according to the investment project to renovate, renovate, and rebuild Dong Kinh - Nghia Thuc Square area. The project helps connect two important areas: Hoan Kiem Lake National Special Relic Site (North) with Co Quarter National Relic Site (South).
